I’m looking forward to my annual get-together with this award-winning R&B band time at
the beautiful Old Winery Restaurant. Last year we got the audience dancing, so it should be a fantastic evening – great food and wine, wonderful venue, fantastic groove provided by this great band. And I promise to groove high, and funk low with all my favourite R&B standards, with a little guitar thrown in for colour. See you there!

We’ll be doing some new arrangements, some songs from the American songbook, and of course some original songs written by Debbie. We’re hoping to bring the spring in with some springy songs of love and fresh sunny air.

I feel I’m a very lucky gal to be still living a full life, and singing, playing, arranging and recording. I want to celebrate the beauty of life at every stage of the game, and am inviting my musical friends to come along, and sing a few songs – or just raise a glass to my blessed years on this planet! I’ll sing a few too, and hopefully we can get a darned fine jam happening in honour of my birthday May 1st. Looking forward to a great evening!

ChoirGirlz Perform together for their final concert —
PLEIN AIR SALON
On Wednesday July 7th, after 9 wonderful years together, ChoirGirlz, led by me (Debbie) are performing together for the last time. Scheduling and time commitments have made it impossible for the Girlz to work on new material and arrangements, and we mutually decided to quit while we’re ahead. We’ve each learned so much in our 9 years together – I have learned to play guitar; and Mary Ellen Moore and Dorothy McDonall have learned to sing my difficult vocal arrangements beautifully. This show is bound to be crowded – and will go on in the beautiful verdant garden on Balliol St. in Toronto – rain or shine.
